Cannock Shopping Centre launched their partnership with The Donna Louise last week by collaborating with Pure Gym, helping promote the charity’s ‘Step Up’ challenge!

Visitors heading to Cannock Shopping Centre on Friday 17 May were in for a big surprise last week when they were greeted with an all-song-and-dance demonstration on the Lower Mall, encouraging the public to get up and moving this summer. The demonstration was held to help promote the hospice’s ‘Step Up’ challenge.

The ‘Step Up’ Challenge encourages all members of the community to walk one million steps, all the while being sponsored to do so. Visitors across Cannock are encouraged to take part, either going it alone or adopting a team to hit their target, all the while raising money for a fantastic cause.

Chris Belyavin, Regional Fundraiser for The Donna Louise commented:

“Support from the local community is vital to what we do here at The Donna Louise, so we’re really excited to be working with Cannock Shopping Centre. The majority of our funding comes from public donations alone, so every penny counts! It was also great to collaborate with Pure Gym and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who got involved in the Step Up challenge!”

Cannock Shopping Centre Manager Susi McCarthy also commented:

“We’re excited to be working with The Donna Louise again this year, helping raise awareness of the fantastic work they do with young children and families across Staffordshire. The charity will be hosting lots of exciting events in the centre over the next few months so keep your eyes peeled to see what will be happening!”

The Donna Louise provides hospice care for children and young people, with a limiting life conditions, and supports their families, providing respite and end of life care across Staffordshire.
