Cannock residents cheer on Team GB
Cannock Shopping Centre offered local residents the chance to wish Team GB good luck ahead of the 2016 games in Rio with a special flag workshop.
Throughout the day on Saturday 25th June visitors to the shopping centre were able to write personal messages onto a giant flag, which is now being displayed at the centre before it’s sent to Team GB in July.
As well as messages including ‘Good luck from everyone at Cannock’ and ‘Cheering you all on – stand tall,’ young Cannock residents also sketched illustrations onto the flag including the Union flag, flowers and hearts.
Natal Chapman, Centre Manager at Cannock Shopping Centre, commented:
“It’s great to be able to offer our shoppers the chance to wish our national team good luck before they head off to Rio. We also wanted to get the younger generation excited for the Games as they often inspire youngsters to take up a new sport. Don’t forget to come and take a look at the flag, which will be on display until Sunday 10th July.”
Name Cannock Shopping Centre’s Team GB Mascot
In order to help the residents of Cannock celebrate this summer’s sporting event in Rio, Cannock Shopping Centre is giving its shoppers the chance to win a giant Team GB Mascot.
From Monday 18th until Sunday 24th July shoppers simply need to try their luck at naming the centre’s giant soft toy for the chance to take it home.
Throughout the week visitors need to look out for the mascot, a giant lion located in a number of different shops windows around the centre, fill out an entry form noting their chosen name and post it in the centre’s red post box located at the bottom of the escalators. The name the centre thinks best suits the lion will then be declared as the winner.
