Star Mums announced!
Cannock Shopping Centre is delighted to announce its top three Star Mums and now it is up to the public to choose who will be awarded this prestigious title.
The Star Awards were launched last year and so far the shopping centre has found Cannock’s Star Grandparent, a Young Sports Star and a Christmas Star. Now, local residents are being encouraged to pick up a voting form from selected stores within the shopping centre to choose their favourite Star Mum.
The winning Star Mum will receive a very special engraved Star Award as well as a voucher for Argos.
The top three are as follows:
Susie has been nominated as a Star Mum because of her strength, courage and determination. She has proved to be a rock to not only her daughter, Alicia, but also to her husband, who nominated her, and their family.
The arrival of Susie’s daughter was not an easy one as Alicia was born prematurely. Due to several medical complications Alicia remained in hospital for the week following her birth. Despite the pain that Susie was suffering, she never left her daughter’s side.
Alicia, now 2, has since had several operations to fix the hole in her heart and throughout it all Susie has remained the pillar of strength for the entire family.
Julie was nominated by her two daughters, Lauren and Kirsty. They nominated their mum because of her kind heart and her ability to keep smiling throughout any of life’s obstacles.
She cares for not only her children, but their father who is unwell and also looked after their Grandma when she was sadly diagnosed with cancer in November 2012. Unfortunately she passed away in August 2013 however Julie still carried on with a smile on her face and remained strong for her family throughout.
Stephen Crutchley, Vivien’s son, nominated his mum for the Star Awards because of her selflessness and commitment to helping others.
Vivien works at a local residential home and has done for over 15 years. Throughout the good times and the bad her son, Stephen, has always been loved and cared for endlessly. She works tirelessly to support both her and her son and is always putting others before herself.
Natal Chapman, Centre Manager of Cannock Shopping Centre, commented:
“We were so moved by all the nominations that we received for the Star Mum award. There are certainly some wonderful mothers out there and we are delighted to be able to recognise even just a few as Star Mums. I thoroughly encourage everyone to vote for their favourite.”
Shoppers will be able to pick up voting forms from the following stores in Cannock Shopping Centre from Monday 10th March:
Kiss & Make up
Holland & Barrett
The deadline for voting is Sunday 23rd March.
